Our Story and how we came about...
I'm the owner, Val! I started Calling Mountains Productions 7 years ago in Whistler, BC. In the hope of capturing wedding videos for couples getting married in the Sea to Sky Corridor. Wedding videography, at the time, was still new and really only a luxury. Being one of the only company that offered wedding videography I chose to really concentrate on one niche, even if I always had a passion for photography and had shot multiple weddings around the world in in my home town, Quebec. When I got pregnant with our daughter, Maddie, I quickly trained my husband David, who was already an advanced drone pilot at the time to start filming weddings. Luckily he fell in love with the medium and created wonderful captures for our clients ever since. So after 2 years, once Maddie was a little older we decided to incorporate photography to our wedding packages in Whistler and the Sea to Sky corridor. It was a no brainer for us really! We could incorporate both of our passions and provide a product that has truly materialized into something tangible that many couples are intrigued with. We are so passionate about our art forms but even more so our clients. We always make an effort in getting to know you, how your relationship came about, what you like to do on your free time, and we also love incorporating all those elements during your wedding day. We only take on a limited number of weddings per year in order to give our clients the attention that they deserve. We would love to hear more about your vision to see if we are the best fit for you! The best way to do this is to set up a quick 15-20 minute phone call, or Facetime/zoom meeting. The goal is to hear about the big day, learn about what is important to you, and make some suggestions on what we can offer. We will send a meeting agenda based on your package selection, whether you are reaching out for photography, videography or our photo/video packages we have something catered for you! And if we're not available, don't be alarmed! We would still love to help you out in the search for a photographer and/or videographer. We have worked with many local vendors these past few years and can make recommendations of those who will take good care of you!
